Black Heart (bandcamp)

'Black Heart' is Anxiety Club's first studio EP.

Opener 'Holes In My Skin' is inspired by the seminal New Zealand poem, 'The Maori Jesus', by James K. Baxter, and is a homage to the band's hometown.

The title track, 'Black Heart', is about that moment of doubt in a relationship when your eye is captured by someone else;

'Lonely Night', co-written with UK songwriter Richard Salmon, explores a relationship that's breaking down, and not for the first time;

the Wilco-inspired rocker 'I Give In' is based on Fitzsimons' experience in the UK music industry machine;

and last, but certainly not least, closer 'Love Rescue Me' is a Ryan Adams-esque torch song of unrequited love.

Overall, five emotive, authentic and widescreen songs, packed full of melody and destined (we hope) to become regular fixtures on your daily playlist.
