A Private Hell (bandcamp)

Abrasive Aotearoa duo Pvnisher deliver nightmarish noise from the plague pits of underground New Zealand punk. Featuring members who’ve played in willfully obnoxious bands like Pantihero, Piggery, Corpse Rat, and Chainsore, Pvnisher also make a violent and stubbornly challenging racket. The two-piece’s music is simultaneously blown-out and stripped-down, with Pvnisher sandblasting achingly raw black metal with corrosive crust throughout. The band's raucous tracks ooze filth and venom, sounding, in parts, like an über-lo-fi Iskra battling Hellhammer and Darkthrone, or a raw-boned Scumpulse taking on Doom, Bathory, and Bolt Thrower at the same time. Expect impenetrable, feedbacking riffs, vocals, and crashing percussion, all conveying bitter frustrations and real-world horrors. Rank, dank, and relentlessly cantankerous, Pvnisher’s mind-chiseling cacophonies boil with a ‘fuck you, fuck everyone, and fuck everything’ attitude.
